- Statewide Conference
November 19, 2015
8:00 am - 4:00 pm
This is the largest gathering of the philanthropic and nonprofit community in Wisconsin, attended by hundreds of Wisconsin foundation CEOs, trustees, grantmaking professionals, and nonprofit leaders.
Attend to hear opposing views on hot topics from expert voices
Highlighting the unique “viewpoints” theme, opinion leaders will explore and debate some of the most exciting topics and difficult challenges affecting our communities. This thought-provoking conference begins with a morning keynote plenary session, continues with concurrent breakout sessions on topics of high interest to funders and nonprofits, and concludes with an energizing afternoon keynote plenary session.

Winter is Coming: Unicorns Unite!
Vu Le’s passion to make the world better, combined with disappointing results on his Law School Admission Test, inspired him to pursue a career in the nonprofit sector, where he learned that we should take the work seriously, but not ourselves. He is a speaker, vegan, Pisces, unicorn lover, preeminent blogger on the nonprofit sector, and Executive Director of Rainier Valley Corps, a start-up nonprofit with the mission of developing and supporting leaders of color to impact systemic change.
In this keynote session, with occasional references to the epic TV show, “Game of Thrones” with the catchphrase, “Winter is Coming!" Le will focus on the dynamics between funders and nonprofits, the damaging myths and habits both perpetuate, and how each side must work more closely together to fight off the ice zombies of injustice. Le’s irreverent approach disguises his extremely serious, thought provoking and uncompromisingly direct criticism of philanthropy.
