2020 Census - Madison
May 7, 2019
8:30 am - 11:30 am
Over the next decade, the 2020 Census will be used to determine the allocation of billions of dollars for programs and services like education, health, and infrastructure. Census numbers also provide the basis for legislative lines and therefore representation at the local, state and federal levels. An undercount in Wisconsin will have a major impact. For example:
- 1% undercount (56,870 people) results in a loss of $76,101,378 in Wisconsin’s Medicaid funding, based on FY2015 projected population size.
- Federal Medicaid Assistance percentage guided programs –the fiscal loss per person missed in 2010 Census in WI was $1,338 each.
Join us to learn more about the implications of an inaccurate count and what Wisconsin Funders can do to help get every person counted.
