Joyful Equity Series Session 1: Philanthropy – Yesterday and Today

Thursday, February 23 | 8:00am-9:30am (CT)

This session is being offered as part of Joyful Equity - a five-part training series for grantmaking professionals in Wisconsin. This five-part series will be facilitated by Jeremy Triblett – a well-respected expert in the fields of equity and racial justice whose fundamental goal as a facilitator is to offer not only space for reflection, but tools for action. You can read more about Jeremy here.

Session Summary:

Series American novelist Pearl S. Buck once said, “If you want to understand today you have to search yesterday.” This training series will begin with a trip down “memory lane” to review the history of race and the philanthropic sector. Then, participants will be invited to celebrate the work of equitable and anti-racist philanthropists throughout history and conclude by unpacking how race impacts nonprofit leadership today.
