In this session, you’ll learn how to build an engaged, responsive Facebook audience that helps you promote your messaging. You’ll learn how to create attention-grabbing posts and use your engagement to build your overall Facebook following. We’ll also cover the basics of Facebook advertising so you know how to spend your advertising dollars most effectively and for greatest gain. Even if your organization has an established Facebook presence, this session will help you grow that presence and convert more of your audience into helpful promoters of your work.
Your teacher, Susie Seidelman, is the Director of Victura Communications. She has over a dozen years of experience working closely with nonprofits and foundations to understand their communications needs, craft goals and strategic plans to meet them, and execute that strategy to align messaging across platforms. Susie builds capacity within organizations, ensuring they have the skills and tools needed to do their best communications work, and trains organizations to use these tools to greatest effect.
Prior to her time at Victura, Susie worked in organizational and communications capacities with The Johnson Foundation at Wingspread, the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, Wisconsin Public Radio, and the City of Milwaukee Election Commission. She received her BA from Oberlin College and her MA from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She was a PLACES Fellow with the Funders’ Network for Smart Growth and Livable Communities in 2013, and a Leadership Advanced Fellow in 2016. She's served on numerous nonprofit boards and plays an active role in her community. In her spare time, she likes to cook, eat, learn about cooking, talk about eating, and generally spend as much time as possible enjoying the great outdoors with friends and family. She lives with her wife, Laura, and their incredibly adorable children, Asa and Forrest, on the sunny shores of Lake Michigan.
