Social Innovation: A Nonprofit Tool for Sustainability & Impact
October 28, 2015
4:30 pm - 7:00 pm
Bader Philanthropies supported an exciting Executive Learning Program around Social Innovation and Leadership in partnership with Wisconsin Philanthropy Network and Midwest Social Innovation/Jeff Snell this past year. 10 Youth Serving Organizations that have been supported by the Bader Philanthropies Community Partnerships for Youth portfolio participated. Two of the organizations will be giving a formal presentation outlining their big ideas (TRUE Skool and Pathfinders) and the rest of the organizations will talk about what the experience meant for them in a capstone event.
Also, listen to one local entrepreneur, Mark Fairbanks - cofounder of Islands of Brilliance, utilizing social innovation to make a difference in the lives of students. Islands of Brilliance is a breakthrough learning workshop that matches children and young adults with autism 1:1 with a design professional, allowing them to explore their creativity through technology and software. Mark is also the cofounder of Translator, which he provides guided thinking around business models and product/market feedback for tech accelerator Gener8tor’s 12 week boot camp.
