Advocacy and public policy are powerful tools for lasting, systems-level change. While this work may feel new to some in philanthropy, many funders have long recognized the opportunity to use their voice, influence, and resources to advance solutions that strengthen communities.

Advocacy can take many forms—from supporting nonprofit partners and funding research to joining coalitions or engaging with policymakers. These strategies are not only legal—they’re essential to driving meaningful, sustainable impact.

Through this initiative, WPN equips members with the knowledge, connections, and tools to engage in both issue- and sector-based advocacy. When energy and interest align, we help spark collaboration and action to move policy and practice forward across Wisconsin.

Wisconsin Funders for Children & Families

The Wisconsin Funders for Children & Families Collaborative is a statewide alliance of philanthropic leaders working to promote policies, initiatives, and investments that enhance the well-being of children, youth, and families. By engaging in collective learning, advocacy efforts, and strategic collaboration, we strive to drive systemic change that empowers communities and creates a stronger, more hopeful future for Wisconsin’s children and families.
