Session Description: The Madison Public Schools Foundation (a 501c3 organization) launched its advocacy program in fall 2016; a modest beginning from what has grown into ongoing local, statewide and federal monitoring, relationship-building and calls-to-action. Foundation staff will share why they embarked on advocacy work (including their experience launching Schools Make Madison Advocates – a 501c4), lessons learned, success stories, and how they’ve built and sustained the work. This event is open to members located or investing in Dane County.
