There is an important issue affecting all community foundations in Wisconsin. By reaching out to U.S. Congressman Paul Ryan or your local Congressperson, you can play a critical role in advocating for the passage of the IRA Charitable Rollover legislation before Congress adjourns for the year.

The IRA Charitable Rollover is an “extender” package usually passed at the end of the year with just date changes. Donor Advised Funds (DAFs) are still excluded from the rollover despite the fact that other endowments with much lower payouts are included.

We encourage you to garner support for philanthropy by contacting U.S. Congressman Paul Ryan or your local Congressperson directly to urge Congress to support philanthropy by making these charitable extenders permanent, and by including additional provisions that would expand the IRA Charitable Rollover to allow gifts to DAFs and simplify the private foundation excise tax in an end-of-year "extender" package.
