GREEN BAY - A fundraiser of massive proportions that made its debut in Green Bay last year is back for round two.

The Greater Green Bay Community Foundation and the Green Bay Packers Give Back Foundation are partnering up again to bring back Give BIG Green Bay.

Give BIG Green Bay is a 24-hour online crowdfunding event to benefit a collection of local nonprofit organizations. During its inaugural event last year, Give BIG Green Bay raised more than $800,000 for more than 30 nonprofits.

This year's event will take place from noon Feb. 20 to noon Feb. 21. During that time, people can visit giveBIGgreenbay.org to view all of the charitable organizations and make desired online donations. Money raised during the event will go to 40 different charities.

Dennis Buehler, president and CEO of the Greater Green Bay Community Foundation, and Mark Murphy, president of the Green Bay Packers, announced the upcoming Give BIG Green Bay 2019 during a Wednesday news conference in the Lambeau Field Atrium.

The categories of nonprofits include animal welfare, arts and culture, community improvement, education, environment and conservation, health and wellness, hunger and homelessness, human services, military and law enforcement, recreation and sports, and youth development.

Buehler said the group of charities chosen to be part of this year's fundraiser is a mix of newcomers and organizations that appeared on the partner list last year.
